What Impact do Interventions with Men and Boys have on the prevention of Gender-Based Violence: A Synthesis of Experiences and Evidence.

The study tried to analyse the several interventions done with boys and men and how it has impacted various kinds of gender-based violence.

A Different Reality – A study of changes in Men around Violence Against Women and gender discrimination based on work with MASVAW. It was based on nine case stories of men who had undergone changes after their association with MASVAW. The study was later published in a peer reviewed journal.

Men Who Care – This qualitative study was part of a multi-country project exploring masculinities among men who were involved in care related work either in their homes or in their profession. The study was based on life-stories of 19 men across several locations.

NRHM Consultation Reports – These reports provide an overview of the process through which NRHM took root in the communities in the early years. The provide the community perspective of NRHM implementation.

Reviving Hopes Realising Rights (2010) – This is report on the First Phase of Community Monitoring under NRHM. The community monitoring project took place across 9 States of India from 2007-09. This report describes the process, results, and recommendations from the review team.

Maternal Health Rights Campaign, MP (2013) – Report of Public Dialogue conducted in Bhopal after the Campaign and Community Monitoring of Maternal Health Services in 12 districts on the State.

Engendered Accountability (2016) – A unique experiment in Madhya Pradesh incorporating principles of gender equality and male responsibility into accountability for health rights Access to Health for Women Bidi Workers (2019) – Beedi or hand rolled mini cigars are very popular tobacco products used by the poor and rural communities in India. CHSJ conducted a participatory study into the implementation of these social security measures in the three states of Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal.

COPASAH Publications - CHSJ is a founding member of the global network, Community of Practitioners on Accountability and Social Action in Health (COPASAH) and prepared a number of issues papers and case studies on behalf of COPASAH. CHSJ also produced Copasah Communique the quarterly newsletter of COPASAH.

 

The Covid-19 pandemic has affected everyone, but the hardest hit are the poor and marginalised communities. The pandemic has interrupted the dwindling health system of our country and disrupted the essential health services for millions of people. The Centre for Health and Social Justice with support from WHO conducted a study on the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic on the functioning of primary level health system. The study included the experiences of service users, of front-line functionaries, and other supportive village level mechanisms.
