CHSJ’s efforts and interventions have had a positive impact on the lives of adolescents and youth in marginalized communities. CHSJ recognizes the importance of empowering young people and involving them in decision-making processes to drive positive change.
CHSJ believes that digital literacy is one of the main empowerment tools for the young generation and cybersecurity is essential and important as well in that journey of empowerment. CHSJ emphasizes that all young people from all sections of society especially from marginalised sections of society should have access to digital tools and knowledge. Through this programme, CHSJ is striving towards building digitally empowered youths from economically poor and marginalsied sections in selected urban slums of Delhi and Kolkata and bringing the divide that exists in India.
CHSJ gathers data from various sources such as censuses, demographic and health surveys, and other research to gain a comprehensive understanding of the conditions faced by vulnerable and marginalized adolescents. This data-driven approach helps in identifying their specific needs and challenges.
The digital literacy programme of CHSJ aims to provide basic computer literacy to young girls and boys from underserved communities in urban areas. The programme not only imparts technical skills but also equips young learners with essential life skills like cyber security and internet safety.
The programme offers courses starting from basic computer literacy to advanced skills like internet browsing, social media, e-commerce, online transaction, etc. The programme will not only impart technical skills but also equips them to solve problems and decision making. It will enable them to access information, communicate with others, and seek job opportunities. It will help them to access information, communicate with others, and seek job opportunities. After the training course, they will actively participate in governance and civic activities and become active members of the digital economy.
CHSJ focuses on building the skills of young leaders and actively involving young people and youth-led organizations in policymaking and programming. By providing opportunities for young people to engage in decision-making processes, CHSJ ensures their voices are heard and their perspectives are considered. CHSJ aims to empower young people and promote their active participation in shaping policies and programs that affect their lives. By investing in youth and involving them in decision-making processes, CHSJ works towards creating a better future for young people and subsequent generations.
Presently, CHSJ is providing support to 3000 girls in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal, and Rajasthan who have been affected by post-COVID trauma. The organization focuses on addressing their overall health and well-being and ensuring continuity in their education by facilitating their re-enrollment in schools. Additionally, the girls receive training on health and hygiene practices to improve their overall health outcomes.
CHSJ works with young and adolescent boys through gender hubs. These gender hubs serve as platforms for addressing gender-based discrimination and violence. By engaging with boys at a young age, CHSJ aims to promote gender equality and reduce instances of gender-based violence and violence against children.
